Hippotherapy
Windrush offers hippotherapy for children who are too
young or whose disabilities are too severe to participate
in a group lesson. Hippotherapy is a specialized form of
therapy performed on a horse's back that uses the
horse's movement to address disabilities in patients with
neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction.

A professional therapist works individually with each child
both on and off of the horse's back. The therapist uses
the horse as though it were a moving table, and lets the
horse's rhythm and cadence stimulate reactions in the
child's body that help develop normal performance.

If you are interested in hippotherapy lessons please read
the hippotherapy information sheet or contact Susan
Lutz
, Program Coordinator for more information.

you know what…it’s fun and I
