Windrush offers hippotherapy for children who are too young or whose disabilities are too severe to participate
in a group lesson.
Hippotherapy is a specialized form of therapy performed on a horse's back that uses the
horse's movement to address disabilities in patients with neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction.
A professional therapist works individually with each child both on and off of the horse's back. The therapist uses the horse as though it were a moving table, and lets the horse's rhythm and cadence stimulate reactions in the child's body that help develop normal performance.
