Testimonials
Jake began his life fighting. Born 7 weeks prematurely, he
had abdominal surgery when he was 5 days old. After a
series of complications this miracle child came home.
After a couple of years of physical therapy, occupational
therapy and speech, he was given a diagnosis of mild
Cerebral Palsy.

At age 3 he began Hippotherapy at Windrush Farm. The
strides that he has made in this type of therapy are
astounding. It has helped to improve his motor planning,
his spatial awareness, strengthen his core muscles and
provide his body with a stronger “rhythm.”

In addition, I have seen my son who was tentative about
trying new physical things bloom into a child who has
confidence in his abilities to move throughout his world- a
gift that I’m not sure how he would have attained
otherwise. Anyone looking at Jake would see a normal
happy child with a true zest for life and the people in it.

My daughter, Lilah, is five years old and on the autism
spectrum. She has been riding at Windrush for five
months. Her progress is remarkable. Riding has helped all
areas of her development especially her gross and fine
motor skills and her language development.
Lilah’s speech is usually hard to understand — but ask
about her riding lesson and she retells every detail to
anyone who will listen. The joy that riding at Windrush
has brought to Lilah is priceless. She is in a place where
she feels loved, accepted and always successful.
