Therapeutic Riding
Our therapeutic riding program gives individuals who have
special needs the opportunity to participate in a
mainstream sport. At the same time, it provides physical,
occupational and speech therapy outside of a clinical
setting, and it offers troubled children the opportunity to
learn to ride a horse in a supportive environment. We
emphasize learning and social skills that transfer to our
students' school and family experience. We also offer our
students a chance to be outside on a farm, to be
surrounded by animals, to interact with a new group of
people, and to learn a new skill.

With the help of experienced instructors and numerous
volunteers, students learn to groom, tack-up and ride
horses. Students work in the stable, practice riding skills
in an arena, play games on horseback, and ride out in the
woods.

Our classes run in sessions- Fall, Winter & Spring and are
held Monday thru Friday. Students are required to pay
only a fraction of the actual cost. This is possible due to
generous donations from individuals, corporations,
foundations and the proceeds of annual fundraising
events.

If you are interested in therapeutic riding lessons, please
visit the form center and complete an application.
Contact Susan Lutz, Program Coordinator for more
information.
