Universal Access |
Each year Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation partners with The Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Universal Access Program (UAP) to offer two days of trail riding on horseback to riders with disabilities at local state parks. Next summer Windrush horsees, staff and volunteers will travel to Bradley Palmer and Maudsley State Parks to make trail riding accessible to individuals who otherwise would not be able to participate. With mounting ramp in town and all our adaptive equipment, we are able to lead found riders at a time for an hour long trail ride through these two beautiful properties. Volunteers are on hand to work as horsehandlers and sidewalkers supporting riders as needed. 2008 will be the program's 6th year! For more information about this program and 2008's date please contact Gina Armano, gina@windrushfarm.org. |
