Vocational Programs

The focus of this curriculum is on helping teens develop job skills and work ethics (such as time mgmt., staying on task, attention to detail, becoming a team player, taking supervision, completing tasks, taking initiative, punctuality, responsibility, ability to self evaluate/reflect…). As they tackle and complete new tasks, the participants develop a sense of awareness of abilities and strengths that they did not know they possessed.

Besides having fun and making new friends while they learn about their shared interests, these lucky teens may also see growth in any or all of the following areas:

Social: team work, learning to reading social cues, developing communication skills that are clear/consistent/effective, cooperation, relationship building.

Behavioral/emotional: impulse control, self-esteem, anger management, self-control, compassion, empathy, self-respect, and limit setting

Character Building: trust, respect, discipline, patience, perseverance

Physical: fine and gross motor skills, spatial awareness, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, body awareness.

Vocational: organization, time mgmt, priority setting, concentration, follow through, responsibility, problem solving, decision making, self-assessment.
