School Year Internships
We offer internships to college and high school students during the school year. Interns are trained to help directly in our therapeutic classes. There may also be opportunity to help with fundraising, marketing, curriculum development and horse care. You do not need horse experience. We are not “major-specific.” We welcome most majors, as long as the student can create a reasonable link between their studies and Windrush Farm. We can accommodate internships from 2-40 hours per week, during the school year. Internships are offered from September through June. All school-year internships are unpaid.
Summer Internships
We also offer summer internships to college and high school students from the end of June until mid-August. It is best that summer intern candidates come with good recent horse experience, as he/she will be assisting with our full-day weeklong summer programming. Interns and volunteers for our summer programming act as an extension of our instructors, helping the clients learn how to groom, tack and ride. Periodically, we do have summer opportunities for interns in the fundraising, marketing, and curriculum development fields. Again, we are not “major-specific.” We welcome most majors, as long as the student can create a reasonable link between their studies and Windrush Farm. Summer interns must be able to commit to up to 35 hours/week for at least one week. All summer internships are unpaid.
