In a concerted effort to protect our programming sites from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Windrush Farm is immediately implementing the following policies and procedures for the entire property.
These new policies have been developed within the guidelines of the State of Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), the Federal Guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and consultation with other local centers and our National Organization for the latest in our Industry Standards. Our plan was developed to ensure that the following mandatory safety standards for reopening are being adhered to.
- Social Distancing
- Hygiene Protocols
- Staffing and Operations
- Cleaning and Disinfecting
Based on the COVID-19 Order No. 33, Windrush Farm will resume operations on July 6, 2020. The farm will not be open to the public or have any unscheduled visits at this time. It is important to note that all policies and procedures outlined in our plan are subject to change at any time based on local and federal mandates that are issued or suggested during this pandemic.
Risk Prevention Policies
- Clients must have all required forms signed and returned to the Windrush office before their first lesson.
- Clients are asked to please submit our COVID-19 screening form, found on the Windrush website, by 4 pm the day before their lesson. Drivers and guests are required to fill theirs out upon arrival.
- Clients must schedule their lesson online no later than 24 hours prior, unless committed to a block of lessons ahead of time.
- Clients must bring their own helmet that is five years or newer and ASTM/SEI approved. When purchasing new, please ask for help to ensure proper fit.
- Clients are asked to bring their own labeled water bottle.
- Everyone on the Windrush Property over the age of 2, is required to wear a mask or face covering. Lowering of the mask after mounting will be permitted, as long as it remains around the neck. It must be put back on before dismounting and remain on until returning to vehicle.
- Upon arriving, please park in the designated Client Parking Area, which will be marked. It is located in front of the picnic area, which is the small triangle of trees along the roadway.
- Clients/ drivers/guests must remain in their vehicle until their instructor comes to get them.
- All clients must remain outside of buildings and are restricted to the arena side of the street.
- Everyone must wash their hands or use hand–sanitizer upon entering and leaving the facility. A hand–washing station is provided with soap, water, hand–sanitizer, and paper towels. Instructors will point it out during week 1 orientation.
- Clients must sign–in and sign–out at the sign–in center located outside the office. It will be clearly marked, and the instructor will point it out during the week 1 orientation.
- Guests of the client will be allowed to watch a lesson inside the indoor IF there is only one lesson going on. Should there be 2 lessons, no guests will be allowed inside the indoor.
- Guests are not permitted to walk around the farm while waiting for the client. They must wait in their car or in the picnic area provided with tables. Social Distancing of 6 feet is required.
- Guests of the client will be allowed to watch a lesson in the outdoor arena.
- Everyone must commit to social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible while on the Windrush property to reduce the possibility of infection.
- Windrush will have safety guidelines and handwashing instructions posted on the premises.
- Handshaking and embracing are prohibited.
- Everyone must cover coughs or sneezes with their elbow or a tissue. All tissues must be disposed of immediately.
- Clients should refrain from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with their hands.
- All Windrush Facilities and equipment are cleaned daily, if in use.
- The porta–potty at the arena is cleaned daily.
Exposure Response Plan
- Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to self–quarantine for no less than 14 days from symptom onset and 72 hours after fever disappears. Physician certification will be required before returning to the property.
- If a confirmed exposure occurs, we will close for 48 hours and disinfect all areas the infected person had contact with. Anyone on the farm at the time will be notified of possible exposure and asked to leave the property and notify their healthcare provider that they have, or potentially have been, exposed to COVID-19. All areas of exposure will be sanitized.
- We will not close for 48 hours if someone only suspects they may have been exposed to the virus, but that person will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days. We will keep in close contact with them as well as disinfect any areas they were in.
